Prompt: Write about a conversation that changed you.

A conversation that changed me as a person is when my brother told me to start playing basketball. We had a big conversation about it and he eventually convinced me to play the sport. This conversation changed me in a way where I surrounded myself around basketball from that day. I played everyday and tried to become better everyday. It changed not only as an athlete but as a student I would focus more and class just so I can do good for basketball. That is one thing that changed me Today we worked on finding evidence, explaining it, and sourcing. I learned how to find evidence and how to use it for an argument as well as come up with a thesis

Write about something that you believed as a child

Something that I believed as a child is when I would walk out my room all my toys would walk around and chill while I was out and as soon as I come back they go back to where they were and freeze. The same concept as Toy Story's after I watched it I really believed it was true and I used to spy on the toys in my room. It something I grew up always believing. I would put my iPad on video and record and try to catch them if they would move, but I would get the same result and eventually would figure out they were never gonna move. yes it was a sad day but of course it was something good I learn because who knew if I would still be trying to catch them. Today went over Egos, Logos, Pathos and Identify which ad was which, also we started our vocab assignment.  Today I learn how to identify Ethos, Logos, and Pathos. Also how learn new vocabulary words.

Write about a truth you were afraid to accept.

One truth that I was afraid to accept was when my grandmother passed away. She was a big factor in my life and really represent who I am today. She passed away this year near my birthday, and I had a plan fight to Pakistan 2 weeks after. The whole situation was really out of sudden and I did not believe it really happened. I was scared to accept it and it did not feel like reality. In the moment they told me I asked them if they were joking, but in the inside I knew they wouldn't do that. I couldn't accept it there was no way but it began to sit down on me and it hurt. She lived with me and she was in the room next to me. As a kid i would always to go to her room and chill with her, while my brother would hangout with there friends and my parents had work. She Loved me a lot and always use to tell people how amazing i was and i was her favorite. It still doesn't feel real to me, I miss her a lot. The truth will always hurt at the end of the day. Today we went over steps to...

Write about a time when you were judged unfairly.

A time I have been judged unfairly was when I was playing sport in elementary school. I was tall but never was really good at sports as a kid. So always when picking teams I was never chosen till the end. I wouldn't ever get the ball no matter what sport we were playing. I was just there in the moment but wasn't relevant in the moment. I was really sad about this and slowly faded away from sport and would just play on the playground. It really did affect me but I think I build from that moment and I learned a lot. Today I learn how to do reading analysis and answer question  Today we did a common lit and wrote our blog

After viewing your classmates’ poem posters, select one presentation that caught your attention. Describe what you enjoyed about it or something new you learned from their work.

The presentation that caught my attention was Judah presentation. I think he use two things that are alike but not alike. He describe it very well and made me genuinely think about life and how it really compares. There a couple of poem that made me think but his poem didn't make sense at first. Later on thinking about it, it kind of sat down in my mind and I really thought his use of words and the placement was nice. It shows how life is going by quick and how unique everyone life is. Today I learn how to make Adobe project and how to write a poem We presented our digital poster poem and watch everyone elses

Imagine you are learning about Hispanic/Latino heritage for the very first time. What would you be curious to know about the traditions, foods, music, or celebrations?

Since I'm learning about Hispanic/Latino culture for the first time, I'd want to know about their different celebrations, especially ones with cool costumes or parades. I'd be curious to learn what special foods are eaten during these events. I also want to know about the music and what kind of instruments they use. Finding out about famous Hispanic/Latino artists and musicians would be interesting, too. Learning about their rich history would help me understand their culture even more. Today i learned how to make cluster and how to develop a thesis statement We made thesis statement and made arguments about what is overrated

Think about a time when you felt like an interloper or when someone else felt out of place in your world. How did that situation affect relationships, emotions, or outcomes?

One time that I felt like an interloper is when I went to play basketball at this little tournament I got invited to and everyone knew each other beside me. In the moment it didn't really feel like I was suppose to be there and everyone kin of just knew each other beside me I had no clue who anyone was beside the person who invited me and he didn't even say hi. I was thinking a lot if I was suppose to be there but I had already got dropped and I had a lot of time until my mother came. So I try to fit in and speak to people but it always turned out to be someone ending the conversation and going to someone they knew. I had felt completely out of place but I was there to play basketball which didn't make me feel so bad, but since everyone already knew each other I didn't really get the ball either. So at the end of the day I felt like a interloper, and felt like I was not suppose to be there in the moment or time. Today we did a common lit on the story "Interloper...

It’s Homecoming Week! 🎉 What do you love most about being part of the Lakeside community? How do you show off your school spirit? What is your favorite Homecoming tradition or event?

The thing I love most of being part of the Lakeside community is being able to be active and participate on the basketball team.  The way I show off my school spirit is by wearing my lakeside clothing and show my attendance to lakeside events, for example games, and homecoming. I always love to say I'm proud to be a part on Lakeside basketball team. Also when lakeside is having spirit week I try my best to be involved and do as many as I can.  My favorite homecoming tradition is the game and being able to see all the hype for the game. Today we took our "Constantly Risking Absurdity" assessment and we are working on our project I learn how to analyze poem and implement it to question

Which learning method do you enjoy the most? Class discussions, worksheet work, or hands-on activities. Select one and tell why.

The learning method I enjoy the most is class discussion and hands-on activities. If feel like these help me a lot while learning. When I learn that way I tend to memorize the items more and it really stick to me. Just talking about something start to get boring and I really get out focus. It doesn't help me learn because i can stay talking about the same topic for so long Today we worked on our poem and started to make a poem project I learn how to make my own poem and my own digital poster.

Which aspect of creating a poem do you enjoy the most? Tell what it is and explain why.

The aspect that i enjoy the most well creating a poem is writing rhymes. I feel like it is really cool to add a rhythm to your poem. When you rhyme it doesn't only give a cool ring to it but also you have a way of words. I like to do it because it almost gives an emotion to the poem. It give a ring and to me always sounds better, there are some great poem without rhyming but i believe there are better poem with rhyming. Today we began to work on our own poem. I learn how to make a poem and make extended metaphor

After reading Lawrence Ferlinghetti's poem "Constantly Risking Absurdity," which explores the poet's daring craft, write about your most absurd personal experience. Describe a single, specific incident that felt ridiculously bold or foolish. Ensure your response is vivid, concise, and captures the essence of absurdity.

One absurd thing that happen is when I was at the movie theater and ran into a crazy lady. I just got done watching a movie in OCTOBER, we had just watch piece by piece it was a nice, funny, entertaining movie, but then as walking out the theater my friend had went to the bathroom and left her little brother for me to watch, and a  friend of hers was waiting as well with her little brother. With some context it was me and 2 girls, my friend who's a guy last second said no after I bought ticket. So as it was just me and her friend and both there little brothers. Again in context both there little brothers are boys. It was like 9 pm so late at night and we walk out getting ready to leave as my friend need to go to the bathroom and now we are waiting. Then we see a lady running around screaming at people she was cussing at people and cussing at kids. My friends friend ran to the bathroom with her brother and left me and my friend little brother on our. Luckily my brave soul took...

You are currently working on a soundtrack for selected Emily Dickinson poems. With that in mind, if asked to choose a song to describe your life right now, which song would you select and why?

The song I would choose to describe my life right now is Innocence by Daniel  Ceaser, it is not a log song but has some strong lyrics. He says "Im drifting from my innocence, I wanna be a kid again". Of course I am still a kid and all and it may not hit how it may in a couple years or so, but it does make a lot sense to me. I really do feel it I feel like compare to middle school I had a lot of confidence and I feel as I grew I started to get confused about my future and the path I want to go. This song really reflected me because it feels like I've been through it almost and everything just seem right about it. Today we took our test and work on our poem analysis  We are still working on learning to analyze poem

If you were to compose a poem about one aspect of your life, which topic would it fall into and what would your overall life's message be?

If I was to compose a poem about one aspect of your life it would be about the challenged I overcame. The topic would be about hard work. I grew up tall but was never that good at the sport I never had much skill i juts had a mentality to get better and had the ambition to. My overall life message would hard work beats talent when talents fails to work hard. I know that the most common one everyone uses but if I never had the dedication I had I would not compare to a lot of my friends I surpassed in basketball. Today we worked on our soundtrack poem, and did poem analysis I learn how to connect poem and lines with music, and analyzing poem

You’ve been in American Literature for 4.5 weeks now. How has the class been going for you so far?

Since I've been in American lit I've learned a lot, and I really do like the class. I really don't have to much interest in poems but I have been pretty interested in the ones we learn over. The class so far has treated me well I feel comfortable and fit in the class. I do think there a but quite a decent bit of work but I do not mind that much because it will help me. I have been doing good so far and no complaints. Today we read more poem and starting are new project with the poems.  I learn more about analyze poems and how to make a connection outside with like Music.

Describe one thing that makes you different from other people.

Something I think make me different from other people is my mentality. I believe that the way I act in different situation. A lot of time I try to figure out the best things and also try to constantly improve. I try to thing of all the ways I can become better version of myself. I dont think many people think like that as much, and before I didnt. As I grew up and matured I realize how it is important. We analyze poems and took notes on them and then continue with our heart. I learned how analyze a poem properly and take proper notes on it
